Choice Christian Greetings

Greetings Saints of the Beloved,

We were blessed above measure as we welcomed the new 2009 year in our annual watch night celebration. The presence of the Lord was evident and we worshipped and adored Him who is our Life.

We are so blessed this year to have a new national treasure in our very first African American president in Mr. Barack Obama. His wife, Michelle and his lovely children Melia and Sasha will be in our prayers throught this presidency. They embody the hopes and dreams of many world-wide as we seek to do what we can to rediscover our hopes and dreams for our future as a nation.

My family extends their best wishes to you this new year. May His peace settle in your lives ensuring the best life you can imagine. Please share this peace of God with others you love. Remember your pastors and leaders in your prayers as well.

MySpace Concern

Some of us are unaware of the social networking website called MySpace.com. We have issued a fact sheet with some information that will be helpful in managing your kids/young adults. Please know that they (your family) are in our prayers for a safer internet experience. Cheers!

Brotherhood Conclave

Thanks for your prayers for the men of EL Bethel who attended our annual Brotherhood Conclave held in Pensacola, FL this past February 13-15, 2009 at the Macedonia Baptist Church. The cost was $110 per adult male and $75 per son under 13 (covers cost of registration, hotel stay for 2 days, transportation).

We joined 300 men in worship for this important three day event with Apostle S. D. James. We plan to attend this event each year the Lord allows. Please contact either Bishop Morris or Pastor Arrington for details and interests.

Remember to pray for those serving in our military overseas and otherwise whether or not you agree with the idea of war . . . we pray for God's protection against enemy forces that would undermine the very liberties we sometimes take for granted.  Pray also for those still encountering difficulties from Katrina and other catastrophic circumstances.

Jubilee Convocation 2008 highlights

We were delighted to have Pastor Vergil Jones of Crusaders for Christ deliver our devotions each morning at 9:00 am Tuesday, July 10 through Friday, July 13 at our annual holy convocation. Pastor Jones and the lovely Lady Erie led wonderful and spirit-led lessons as our convocation pastors. Audio tapes will not be available for those wanting the experience or re-experience of pastor's dynamic teachings. Please contact the church office at 407-648-1975 for any questions.

We, unfortunately, were unable to enjoy a gospel concert by artist Troy Sneed due to an internal problem between the artist and his agent on our very first night (Sunday). We did, however, enjoy our Evangelist Lillie Jean Conway's version of an exciting time among the Tribes. Her talents are many and brought joy to our attendees.

We were blessed to engage the Tribes in meaningful day and evening sessions with Pastors Leonard Adams, Fessor Hargrove, Charles Johnson, Robert Hires, and Bishop Alvin Palmer. This enriching time brought back so many memories and permitted us to share in what God is currently doing in these great men of God's lives. We also enjoyed our younger minister's sharing the word during our day and evening sessions in Elders George Sloan, Jr. and Afred Grider.

We would like to express our appreciation for those who worked behind the scenes to make this convocation possible. They are Deaconess Jennie Thompson, Mother Valegia Postell, Deaconess Diana Mincy, Deaconess Ionie Fisher, the First Ladies Club, Sister Emily Sloan, the sound technicians, the ushers, the musicians, and Dr. Jamia Richmond. We would also like to thank the several members of the Tribes of EL Bethel who support this convocation. Without you, this annual celebration would not be possible. Thanks also to the First Baptist Church staff for their assistance in making our foundation banquet a success.

Blessings on you,
